I have no ps3 no psp demo game etc, I booted into IDU installed the pixel junk demo and installed adrenaline it gave the C0-98 something error when I pressed start from livescreen saying I need to reinstall it, then I replaced the License file in pspemu/License from the vitashell directory and now it opens shows the psp warning page then gives the C0-98 error I have a partially activated Vita.. isn't the pixel junk supposed to be drm free and work???

If Adrenaline installed correctly, it should launch after the PSP warning screen. Did you follow all the steps in the Easy Installer tutorial from this link? http://gbatemp.net/threads/installing-adrenaline-6-61.449344/

Make sure the 661.PBP file is present in the adrenaline folder, otherwise it won't boot into Adrenaline.

As for your question about Vita Activator, it doesn't work at all as Sony broke PSN spoofing. That's why you got the error, so you shouldn't be "Really scared". The only way to activate your Vita right now is by using the PS3 method.

i did, followed everything precisely. in this case the game showed up as corrupted in the filesneeded2archive and the bubble did not appear, when i installed a different .pkg from idu mode the bubble came but gave C0-9252-8 error. i have an unactivated vita maybe thats why. i would need a ps3 or a psp for a valid license i guess

Damn, I really hoped you got it working somehow, I have an unactivated vita too, if you can get it working that means the drm free demo installation in IDU mode is working hence unactivated vita can run adrenaline, it must be the activation issue unless you messed up the installation somehow but that's unlikely since you mentioned that you followed everything precisely.

I also get the error saying that it couldn't find 661.PBP, but it is clearly there when I browse to it. I followed the Adrenaline install guide to the letter.

What are my options to get Adrenaline working? I don't have a PS3...

Its a bug with easy installer. Just boot adrenaline and it should be fine.

You need a PSP game in order to actually install Adrenaline.

I don't see a bubble for Adrenaline after following all the installation steps in the original post, and running the easy installer.

The method in the OP doesn't really work correctly, only under certain circ*mstances. If your Vita is activated (you have, at any time in the past, downloaded a PSN game for whatever reason) you can try this method: http://gbatemp.net/threads/want-to-...no-problem-sort-of.450551/page-3#post-6875510

And it should work.

When you purchased the Vita, was it already setup with a PSN account or did you have to enter one? If you had to enter one, and you know for sure you haven't been on PSN at all, you're not activated and none of the current methods are necessarily functional.

If you have a PS3, you can use the PS3 method to activate your Vita and transfer a PSP demo. If you don't, you're out of luck until PSN spoofing gets fixed (which is a low priority) or until someone figures out a workaround to get these methods to work on an unactivated Vita.

I can't tell if it was already set up with PSN. I just open PSN and get the message that it needs a software update.

Ok, let me make this a bit more simple.

When you got the Vita, did you have to do any kind of setup at all, or was it just ready to go? Did it already have games on it or was it absolutely stock?

When I got it, I didn't have to do any kind of setup. It didn't have any games installed. It definitely was used, as it included 8 physical games.

First, turn on Airplane mode so you don't accidentally update.

Then, go to Settings -> Playstation Network and see if there's an account associated with the device. If so, it may already be activated and you can just follow the guide in my first reply.

I did that, and it says I need to sign into the Playstation Network.

Ok, you're not activated then, so none of these methods will work at the moment.

Do you have a PS3? If so, you can use that to both activate your Vita and transfer a PSP demo over to install Adrenaline with

Any PS3 would work as long as it can connect to PSN and download a PSP demo. You'll likely need to do a complete restore of the Vita so you can link your own PSN account to it though (as you need to be using the same PSN account on both devices), which means save games and other data will be wiped.
