MAKE BAKED SALMON RECIPE

Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F. It is very important to put the salmon directly into a preheated oven for the best results. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, and olive oil. If you do not have olive oil you could get away with using melted butter.

Drizzle a ramekin or small casserole dish with a teaspoon of olive oil and arrange some lemon slices, sliced or minced garlic, and fresh thyme sprigs on the bottom. I prefer fresh herbs for this application because they add so much more character to the dish.

How Long to Bake Salmon

Place a piece of salmon in each ramekin with the salmon skin facing down, or spread them out on a baking sheet and bake the fillets for a full baking time of fifteen minutes to twenty minutes (depending on the size of your fillets).

You can tell that the salmon is cooked when it is firm to the touch when you press the center. A ramekin is a shallow small bowl used for individual servings.

Our recipe calls for a 475º oven, so if you want to bake the salmon at 425º you might have to lengthen the baking time appropriately. It depends on how well done you want your salmon.

With a small metal spoon scoop out the flesh. It will resist a little bit at the bottom of the tomato where the ligaments are still attached to the base, so just use your spoon to disconnect that and scoop out everything.

In a separate bowl, prepare your Salad and Honey Greek Salad Dressing with 2 tablespoons extra of fresh chopped mint added in. The mint is the perfect complement for the salmon flavor.

Ingredients For the Greek Dressing

  • 1 large clove of garlic or even better, my favoriteGarlic Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons of Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons of Honey
  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Oregano Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon of Fresh Oregano Leaves
  • 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons of White Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/3 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • Pinch of Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons of Crumbled Feta
  • 2 Tablespoon of Minced Kalamata OlivesOnce you have the dressing ingredients all stirred together, you are ready to assemble your tomato salads! Toss the dressing with the salad.

  • Olives
