Just grab a couple of things around the house, some people to play with, and have yourself a fun day playing Valentines games all day long!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (1)

One of my favorite memories ever is having a couples Valentines Day party complete with dancing, games, and delicious food. I can’t help you with the dancing but chocolate lava cake would make a great dessert and these Valentine party games are perfect for the games!

Or forget hosting a party at home and just use the hilarious games below for your kids’ classroom Valentines day parties! Don’t want something quite so active – this Valentine bingo game or this Valentine scavenger hunt is fun too!

Now let’s get this party started – tons of game ideas you’re going to love! If you need even more ideas, try one of these Valentine’s minute to win it games that all use conversation hearts!

Hilarious Valentine Party Games

I’ve included all sorts of Valentine’s Day party games in this post so hopefully there’s something for every age and every occasion! The only thing I didn’t include because I already have an entire post written with them is printable Valentine’s Day games!

Love Sucks

Start by putting a bunch of heart shaped marshmallows in the center of a table. I got my marshmallows at Dollar Tree, but I’ve seen them at all sorts of grocery stores – you could also do regular marshmallows if you can’t find hearts!

Then place four plates and four straws at the end of the same table, far enough away that players will have to move to reach the marshmallows.

To play, have one player stand at each plate and take a straw. When you say go, players have to race to the marshmallows in the center of the table and use the straw to suck it up and bring it back to their plate.

Keep going for a minute (or however long you choose) and when the minute is up, count to see who was able to get the most marshmallows onto their plate, and they win!

Make it easier!

If you want to make this easier for kids or you don’t have a table that will work for putting the marshmallows in the center, you can spread the marshmallows all over the table and just make it a race to see who can get the most marshmallows sucked up onto their plate without having to move to get them. It’s not quite as funny that way, but it still works and is a lot of fun either way!

Box of Chocolates

Before the party, open up a big box of chocolates and place small heart stickers underneath a handful (however many prizes you want) of the chocolates, replacing the chocolates on top so no one can see them.

Make it Kid-friendly!

If you want to play this game but make it work for a classroom game where everyone wins, put different colored heart stickers under each piece of chocolate and the color that they chose designates the type of prize they won (have different colored bags for different prizes). It’s like the classic duck game where everyone wins a prize, just with a box of chocolates instead!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (4)

Fill either envelopes or bags with prizes, one per heart sticker you added to the box of chocolates.

I did envelopes filled with cash, gift cards, movie tickets, etc. that were all different amounts and people loved that!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (5)

To play, players pick a piece of chocolate. If there’s no sticker underneath, they just get the piece of chocolate. If there is a sticker underneath, they get a chocolate and they get to pick an envelope (or bag – whatever you want to do) with a prize inside!

Put a Ring on It

This game is played in pairs and requires a cup full of gummy rings or hearts and a chopstick for each team.

Give one player on each team the cup of hearts and one player the chopstick. Have the players stand across the room from each other and you’re ready to go!

When you say go, the player with the gummy ring has to toss a ring to their teammate who has to try and catch it on their chopstick. The first team to catch one (or multiples) wins the game!

Make it a one player game!

You could also make this a one player game by just giving one player the chopstick and gummy rings. When you say go, they have to toss the ring up and catch it on the chopstick on their own, instead of having a teammate toss the rings to them. This isn’t nearly as fun but it’s doable if you want individual games instead of team games!

Cupid’s Castle

This game is inspired by one of our favorite Mario Party (one of our favorite Nintendo Switch games) and is perfect for Valentine’s Day parties!

Split into groups of three and give each player a dice (we LOVE these jumbo dice to make it more fun) and 10 cups. Have each player create a 4-3-2-1 stack of their cups, right at the edge of a table. You’ll also need 1-3 basic Nerf toys (go with small, not the huge high powered ones) depending on which variation of the game you play.

There are three different variations you can play of this game but the goal is always the same – be the last one with cups standing in your castle.

Game Variations

  1. Everyone shoots every roll.

In this version, everyone rolls and everyone gets to shoot as many darts at anyone else’s cup castle (or split among two) as they rolled. So if someone rolls a three, they shoot three darts. If they roll a five, they shoot five.

Whoever rolled the lowest number shoots first and shoots all of their darts, then it moves onto the next person. If someone’s castle gets completely knocked off before it’s their turn, they’re out and don’t get to shoot.

Keep rolling and shooting darts until only one person has a castle standing and they win.

This is easily the fastest version of this game and will have people’s castles knocked down in no time!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (8)
  1. Only one person shoots what they roll.

In this version, everyone rolls their dice at the same time. Whoever gets the highest roll wins that roll and is the only person that gets to shoot darts that roll, which makes it really fun because the game get a little more competitive! The number of darts they get to shoot is the number they rolled to win.

They can shoot their darts at just one castle or split them between two. This is the second fastest version of the game since someone will be shooting multiple darts each round!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (9)
  1. Only one person shoots one dart per roll.

This final version is played just like the one above with one main difference. Everyone rolls each time and only the winner gets to shoot a dart but that person only gets to shoot one dart regardless of what they roll.

This is the version that we did with the teens in our family, and it’s my preferred version but it does take a little longer because you’re only shooting one dart at a time! But it felt the most fair because if someone rolls a six in the second version, six darts could take out an entire castle in one round if that person is good with their Nerf weapon!

Either way – this game was definitely one of the favorites and while we called it a Valentine party game, it could just as easily be used for birthday party games too!

Love Birds

This game is similar to one of our most popular Super Bowl party games, except with ducks and hearts instead of footballs!

Tape small hearts to a table or desk prior to the game then put a bucket of rubber duckies at the end of the table.

Players have to race to slide Valentine’s Day rubber duckies from the end of the table to try to get them to land on the taped on hearts. As long as the rubber ducky is touching the heart, it counts.

You can either play the if a player gets their duck to land on a heart, they win a prize, or time it and whoever gets the most hearts covered with ducks wins!

Heart to Heart

This game is played in pairs. Teams must race to be the first pair to successfully move a balloon from one side of the room to the other using any part of their body other than their hands.

Start by having one person bounce the balloon off of their “heart” then keep moving.

If the balloon hits the ground or someone touches it with their hands, they have to go back to the starting line. Even better if you use heart shaped balloons!

This is a simple game that everyone loves because chocolate and prizes are involved! And it’s a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to get!

X&O Tic Tac Toe

So this game takes the typical game of Tic Tac Toe and turns it into something way more fun! The basic idea is that two teams are battling each other to roll pairs to win a game of Tic Tac Toe!

This game is played with two teams of two (four people total). Give each person one dice so each team has two dice. And give them either Xs or Os – I used Valentine’s Day XOXO gummies but you can use whatever.

Create a tic tac toe board on a table using painter’s tape and you’re ready to play!

When you say go, each player on each team rolls the dice. If their roll matches their teammate (i.e., a six and a six), they get to put one of their pieces on the board anywhere they want.

Teams keep rolling and adding pieces to the board until one team gets three in a row, tic tac toe!

Make it more fun!

If you want to make this game go a little longer and even more fun, instead of just letting people put their piece on the board, let them put a piece on the board OR switch someone else’s piece with their own. So if someone else has an X in the center space and you roll doubles, you could switch their X with your O. This makes the game more fun and last a bit longer!

Ring Around the Roses

Before the game, set up a vase with chocolate roses inside then place a piece of tape a few feet from the roses.

Spin players in five circles then give them three rings to toss.

Players must toss rings and get them to ring around chocolate roses to win the game.

Don’t Break My Heart

This is a super simple game that just requires a large bowl, a napkin, a rubber band, and some conversation hearts. Oh and some people to play of course!

Start by splitting your napkin so that you can get one sheet of it (you want basically 1ply). Place the piece of napkin over the top of a large bowl. Wrap a rubber band around the outside to secure it to the bowl, then carefully drip water onto the napkin until it seems like it’s about to rip through (but make sure it doesn’t).

Place the napkin topped bowl on one side of a table and place a bowl of conversation hearts on the other.

To play, players have to take turns tossing conversation hearts onto the napkin on the bowl. If they miss the bowl, they have to get the heart and try again.

On everyone’s first turn, they only have to toss one heart. On the second turn they have to toss two hearts at same time (not one after another), then three hearts, and so on until someone tosses and it breaks the napkin Whoever breaks the napkin loses and is out for the next napkin.

Get another napkin ready and play again. Keep playing until only one person hasn’t broken the napkin and they win!

Love Letters

Give each player a cup filled with the same number of conversation hearts.

Players have to dump out their conversation hearts and race to place the conversation hearts either in alphabetical order (more difficult) or to sort them by color (easier – for kids). The first person to complete the task wins!

Love Match

This is a super simple game but a fun way to give out prizes and treats at the same time! The basic idea is that you’re going to put conversation hearts in cupcakes, people are going to eat the cupcakes to find the conversation hearts, and get a prize that matches the conversation heart they found in their cupcake!

Start by picking out 24 (or 12 if you have a smaller group) matching pairs of conversation hearts – making sure you can read them clearly. I just used the original conversation hearts and they had tons of options!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (17)

Then get prizes that either go along with those conversation heart pairs OR just get whatever prizes you want and put them in bags or envelopes – one prize per conversation heart pair. I went a little crazy and found ones that I could do specific prizes for but you can really just do matches and basic prizes if you want!

Here are the prizes we did:

  • Baby Bear – gummy bears
  • Honey bee – Burt’s Bees chapstick
  • Honey bun – actual honey buns
  • Silly goos – Valentine’s Day ducks
  • Lucky dog – gift cards that they could randomly choose from (I really wanted to do lotto scratcher tickets but forgot to grab them)
  • Pawsome – Valentine’s Day dog toy
  • Super Star – Starbursts
  • Sweet Pea – some sort of candy
  • Cutie Pie – a bag of cuties
  • Crush on U – a pack of Grape Crush soda
  • Flirt – a box of chocolates with a winky eye emoji
  • Kiss Me – bag of kisses
  • Wink Wink – Valentine’s Day sunglasses
  • Sugar Pie – Sugar candy of some sort
  • Soul Mate – A Valentine’s Day pack of stuffed animals that were together
  • Teddy Bear – Kinder chocolate bears
  • Chick A Dee – Chick Fil-A gift card (everyone needs some chicken minis)
  • Marry Me – A bag of Ring Pops
  • Date Night – a gift card with a bunch of dinner out options
  • My Hero – superhero fruit snacks
  • You + Me – we actually found a pack of stuffed animals that said You + Me
  • Love Birds – Buffalo Wild Wings gift card
  • XOXO – XOXO gummies
  • Ooh La La – some sort of sour treat (but if you were doing this with adults, you could get real fun with this one)

Bake two dozen cupcakes and let them cool. Letting them cool is SO important so please don’t rush this if you want this game to work. We tried it with hot cupcakes and the words totally melted off.

Then carefully push one of the conversation hearts into the top of the cupcake and frost over top of it so it just looks like a normal cupcake.

To play, each player picks a cupcake and eats it until they find their conversation heart. They read the conversation heart and get the matching prize!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (19)

Speed it Up

If you want to add a little challenge to this game, you can always make it a race of say three people and the first person to completely eat their cupcake wins whatever their conversation heart says! Then just put the other prizes away for another game like Valentine’s Day family feud for later!

Love Goes Round

This game is played in pairs. Have one player stand on one side of a table and have the other player stand on the other side of the table.

Players must take turns rolling (not sliding) Oreo cookies across the table to their partner where their partner, without having their chin on the table, has to catch the Oreo in their mouth.

Continue rolling cookies back and forth across the table until both players have caught a cookie in their mouth. This is a fun alternative to the popular face the cookie game.

Listen To Your Heart

This is another super simple game that’s actually really fun and all you need are some cups (one per person), some conversation hearts, and some foil (or lids if you have cups with lids).

Start by filling each of the cups with a different number of conversation hearts then covering with a small piece of foil or a lid if you have lids.

To play, put all of the cups out randomly on a table and have everyone playing stand around the table.

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (21)

When you say go, everyone grabs any cup on the table and shakes it to try and gauge how many conversation hearts are inside. They can then either take that cup and step away from the table, essentially saying they’re confident in their decision.

Or if they think there might be more hearts in another cup, they can put down that cup, pick up another cup, and shake that one. Play continues with people moving around the table and shaking different cups until everyone has chosen one cup that they think has the most hearts inside.

Important!

Players can only hold ONE cup at a time so they can’t do any direct comparison holding two cups in their hand. Make sure this is clear at the beginning of the game because if they start comparing two cups to each other directly, it’s a much different (and not nearly as fun) game.

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (22)

Once everyone has chosen their final cup, everyone removes the foil and reveals how many hearts they have. The person who has the cup with the most hearts wins!

14 Hilarious Valentine's Day Party Games (23)

Gone with the Wind

Before the game, tape a starting line and a finish line on the ground (or on a long table). Then give everyone playing a straw and a heart marshmallow.

Have players put their heart on the starting line and when you say go, they must blow their marshmallow across the room to cross the finish line. The first player to get their heart across the finish line wins.
